Currently, I serve as Executive Project Editor on the Custom Publishing team at Macmillan Learning Curriculum Solutions. Prior to this post, I was Senior Editor of Backbeat Books (an imprint of Hal Leonard Performing Arts Publishing Group, now part of Bloomsbury), where I acquired, developed, and managed trade books related to rock and pop music. Select titles include New York Times Bestseller A Perfect Union of Contrary Things (Sarah Jensen and Maynard James Keenan), Everything’s Bigger in Texas: The Life and Times of Kinky Friedman (Mary Lou Sullivan), The Girl in the Back: A Female Drummer’s Life with Bowie, Blondie, and the ’70s Rock Scene (Laura Davis-Chanin), and 25 Years of Grace: An Anniversary Tribute to Jeff Buckley’s Classic Album (Merri Cyr with Jeff Apter). Over my tenure with Hal Leonard, I have edited more than 300 titles. In addition to working in-house, I freelance. Some clients include Tom Tom magazine, Scholastic, Public Books (copyediting), and William Paterson University (copywriting). I also write poetry and have had poems published in Lamplighter magazine and New Jersey Bards Poetry Review (in two anthologies). My first book of poetry Overlove is forthcoming in 2025.
